Watch: Audra McDonald Goes Full Disco Diva in 'Beyond the Moon' from Upcoming Movie Musical 'Hello Again'

Friday Jun 9, 2017

Has Broadway's reigning goddess of everything Audra McDonald gone disco?

Producers of the upcoming movie musical "Hello Again" have released the single "Beyond the Moon," an homage to dance floor anthems of the early 2000's featuring six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald.

Loosely based on a late 19th-century German play "La Ronde" by Arthur Schnitzler, "Hello Again" tracks ten sexual trysts across ten decades in New York City history. Originally presented by Lincoln Center Theater in 1994, the film version features McDonald and an all-star cast that includes Cheyenne Jackson, T.R. Knight, Martha Plimpton, Rumor Willis and Sam Underwood.

In McDonald's segment of the film, she plays an early 2000's era pop diva. Clip from the film features an uncharacteristic auto-tuned McDonald in a dance video with a bevy of tres gay back up boys.

The song is available on iTunes

"Hello Again" is currently playing the film festival circuit. A release date has yet to be announced.
