Lea DeLaria made it clear on social media: she is not Che Diaz, the non-binary character played by Sara Ramirez on "And Just Like That."

"What's up Che Diaz?" asked Bowen Yang Weekend Update co-host Michael Che on "Saturday Night Live," January 26. A bewildered Che replied, "I told you I don't get that reference."

Yang was playing Chen Biao, a super-gay Chinese Trade Minister and Olympic Games Organizer, so it makes sense he would get the reference to Diaz, the non-binary comic and podcast host played by out actress Sara Ramirez on the "Sex and the City" reboot, "And Just Like That."

Michael Che isn't the only one confused about the identity of Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez on the HBO reboot of "And Just Like That." This week comic Lea DeLaria went to social media to say she is not Che Diaz.

"On Tuesday, the "Orange Is the New Black" star posted a short clip on her Instagram page and called the post a 'public service announcement.

In the post DeLaria, the "Orange Is the New Black" regular, writes: "Just want to put it out there: I'm not Che Diaz. Thank you for your time.

"In case you missed the myriad of memes on Twitter, Che Diaz is a fictional character played by actor Sara Ramirez on the "Sex and the City" reboot series, "And Just Like That...." Over the past few weeks, many social media users have been making memes featuring the nonbinary podcast personality who has caught the eye of Cynthia Nixon's' character, Miranda," writes NBC Today.

On Twitter user Rep. Vaxine Waters (@andrewjonston) suggested that perhaps DeLaria should have been cast in the role in the first place: "Firstly: Che Diaz should have been played by Lea DeLaria and Lea DeLaria should have just played herself."

And another person asked DeLaria, according to the Daily Mail, "Okay but have we ever seen you & Che Diaz in the same room at the same time?!"

"In her new video, Lea was even sporting a haircut similar to the one Sara has while portraying Che on the television series," adds the Daily Mail.

Even the Tony-winning Ramirez got in on the action, posting a Tweet that suggested just where her character's relationship with Miranda is headed. In it, she has two photos of herself with sub-titles. The first reads, "I'm in love with you." In the second, "You're not my girlfriend. And we're not dating."

On the penultimate episode of the reboot, airing tomorrow night, Miranda heads to Cleveland after telling Steve about her affair with Che, but it won't be a spoiler to say that her dewy-eyed romanticism — itself a show meme — is about to get shattered.

At the end of Episode 7, Miranda told Carrie: ?"I'm going to surprise Che at their show. And tell them that we can be together. I'm in a rom-com Carrie!"
