Bacon, 63, will also executive produce, InsideNova reports. InsideNova also reported that Bacon will star in an upcoming remake of "The Toxic Avenger" opposite "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage.

Logan has been nominated three times for an Oscar in the screenplay category: For the 2004 Martin Scorsese-directed Howard Hughes biopic "The Aviator," starring Leonardo DiCaprio; for the 2000 Ridley Scott-directed "Gladiator," starring Russell Crow; and for the 2012 Sam Mendes-directed James Bond film "Skyfall," starring Daniel Craig.

Logan will make his feature film directorial debut with the project, and he will also write the screenplay.
