Thirst-Trapping, Award-Winning Adult Star DeAngelo Jackson Tests Acting Chops in New Series
Thirst-trapping adult actor DeAngelo Jackson won the 2021 GayVN Performer of the Year, now he is "about to expand his list of credits with his official mainstream acting debut," writes The Sword. "Starting later this week, fans will be able to see DeAngelo show off his acting chops on the Here TV's short-form series 'Collar Confessions.'"
The show begins streaming on October 8. For more information, visit the Here TV's website.
"Inspired by the book 'Collar Confessions: Sharing the Man of God' by Dwight O'Neal, the series — part-soap, part-thriller — stars Nathaniel J. Ryan as Pastor Eddie, a preacher harboring secrets and attempting to make a fresh start with his husband Quentin, portrayed by Jackson," reports Metro Weekly. The couple faces an uphill battle, as Pastor Eddie's still trying to forgive Quentin for burning down his church in a jealous rage."
O'Neal, who is co-writing the screenplay, discussed the series on the website Raynbow Affair. "This story deals with the hypocrisy within the church," says O'Neal. "The church is a place that was created to heal; however, many people in the LGBTQ+ community enter the church and then are in need of healing. They lead double lives, in constant fear of being discovered. Many turn to social media that is, in essence, a dangerous Pandora's Box where anything can happen."
And in writing the series, O'Neal and "his co-writers, Dane Joseph and Daniel Armando (who also directs the series), originally planned to re-tell the story from the book but opted instead to tell a new story in the world that the book created. The series explores the journey Pastor Eddie takes after his experiences with the characters in the book. 'We challenged ourselves further by looking at the story from the lens of a thriller," explains Daniel Armando."
For his part, Jackson is thrilled to be part of the series. "It was the most fun I've ever had on a set," he told the LGBTQ publication, and is happy "to do something I've been wanting to do for a while now, which is to transition into acting. This was a perfect way of getting my feet wet."
He added that he feels a relationship with his character without going into too much detail. "Quentin kind of reminds me of myself, in the sense that he loves hard." But also acknowledges how he had to "come out of my comfort zone," says Jackson of playing the role, "to act in a way that I would never behave."
"I have always dreamed of doing more than adult film work," Jackson tells Raynbow Affair. "When I first read the book, I was thrilled to be able to bring one of the characters to life. After learning the series would be a thriller and I would get to perform stunts on camera and learn fight choreography, I was sold!""I hope 'Collar Confessions' entertains and inspires viewers to live in truth," Jackson continues. "Too often, we live our lives for other people, doing what is expected of us but not what makes us happy. I also hope that viewers note the consequences that occur when we decide to hurt people. Every action has a reaction, especially when it comes to matters of the heart."
Jackson has been in the adult film industry for a decade, starting while in college studying criminal justice. In addition to winning the GavyVN Award (considered the Oscar in the industry), his Oscar-like appendage has been immortalized with a sex toy replica. "It's humbling," he says. "I was excited for my fans to have the opportunity to finally get a piece of me every day."
