Steven Romo, a news anchor for Texas ABC affiliate KTRK, and his fiancé, Stephen Morgan, a weatherman for Fox, are now engaged. Romo announced the exciting news on social media and revealed he will also relocate to New York to be with Morgan.

The announcement Romo's way of coming out as gay.

Along with sharing a photo of himself with Morgan — in which the couple shows off their engagement rings — Romo wrote that he had grown up with "secrets," like that his childhood home was "full of garbage" and "a horde of dogs." However, Romo said the hardest secret of all — and the one he has had to "carry all on my own" — was that he "was gay and trying with all my heart not to be."

Noting that people at his church were not accepting of LGBTQ people, Romo went on to relate that his secret, as hard as it was, "saved me. It made me strong. Strong enough to eventually stand next to the best human I've ever met and ask him to marry me."

Romo recalled spending years thinking he would never find love. Now that he has, he says, "I'm the happiest I've ever been. In my whole life. And I'll soon be moving to New York City with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."

The post garnered a flood of congratulatory messages and good wishes from Romo's supporters. "This is so beautiful!" one user commented, adding, "Filled with joy for you both."

"A literal dream come true," another user added with a lovestruck emoji.

"Oh Steven!!! So happy for you," another user commented on Instagram. "Congrats you deserve so much happiness!!!"

"Morgan is heading to New York," reported Houston blogger Mike McGuff, adding that Morgan's NYC gig is "to start the new FOX Weather streaming network."
