Debbie Reynolds Dead at 84

Just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died, actress Debbie Reynolds has also passed away, according to her son Todd.

The UK Daily Mail reports that the 84-year-old Reynolds died of an apparent stroke.

Reynolds, star of the 1952 classic "Singin' in the Rain," was rushed to a hospital shortly after 1 p.m. when someone at the Beverly Hills home of her son, Todd, called 911 to report a possible stroke. The two were reportedly making funeral plans for Carrie, who died Tuesday.

Reynolds divorced Eddie Fisher in 1959 affair his affair with Elizabeth Taylor, but married two more times, in 1960 and 1984. She played memorable roles in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," winning an Oscar nomination, and "Tammy and the Bachelor."

Her relationship with her daughter was the focus of Fisher's semi-autobiographical book, "Postcards From the Edge," later adapted into a feature film starring Shirley MacLaine and Meryl Streep. The 60-year-old Fisher died on Tuesday, four days after suffering a heart attack on a transatlantic flight.

Reynolds is survived by her son, Todd, who reportedly said, "She's with Carrie."
