2024 Rewind: 'GMA' Host DeMarco Morgan's Thirst-Trappy IG Under Fire by ABC Honchos

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

This piece is part of EDGE's 2024 Rewind series. We're reaching into our archives and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past year.

DeMarco Morgan's package has gotten him in trouble.

"ABC News executives are alarmed over a series of provocative photos 'Good Morning America 3' co-host DeMarco Morgan has posted to Instagram that show him posing in skin-tight biker shorts, The Post has learned," writes Page Six.

Reportedly ABC honchos are scandalized that the hunky anchor's package is on full display, feeling such an image doesn't suit the network's parent company Disney.

"Accordingly, a heated discussion among top brass has focused on whether to ask the hunky anchor to take them down, a source with knowledge told The Post.

"Executives at the highest levels of ABC have flagged the photos internally," a source told The Post, adding, "It leaves very little to the imagination."

The Post adds that execs are mulling how to address Morgan's Instagram after a series of public relations nightmares including the Holmes/Robach affair and the recent ouster of weatherman Rob Marciano. Morgan was hired to replace TJ Holmes after his affair with co-host Amy Robach went public.

Both ABC News and Morgan did not respond to the Post for comment.

TMZ writes that they were "told there are some inside ABC who feel the pictures are embarrassing not just for DeMarco, but the entire news organization - especially in light of ABC News President Kim Godwin recently exiting the company herself ... as he was her pick for the job."

The outlet adds they were "told Morgan's not facing repercussions at this point - but that doesn't mean people aren't making a fuss about it there in the building ... because we're told they totally are."

TMZ has seen a copy of ABC News' morals clause - which states an employee will act with due regard for public morals and conventions and won't do anything that makes ABC the subject of contempt, scandal, and ridicule.

And they also saw a copy of ABC's parent company, Disney's, clause on this same topic that reads, "Be responsible in your use of social media. Use online tools in a way that is consistent with our company policies."

The post, which is still live, has more than 10,000 likes and plenty of cheeky comments.
