10 Reasons Why Our Hearts Need Defibrillating After Seeing '9-1-1' Star Oliver Stark
Timothy Rawles READ TIME: 5 MIN.
Oliver Stark was born in London in 1991, only his name was Oliver Jones back then.
"Stark was my late Grandmother's maiden name," he told Bello. "When I joined the acting union in the U.K. 'Oliver Jones' was taken so I had to come up with something else!"
Finding his footing in Hollywood, he started auditioning for big roles something that he wasn't being offered in the U.K. The 32-year-old said he was "invigorated by the possibilities." In 2017 one of those possibilities arose and Stark was cast as Evan "Buck" Buckley in the Ryan Murphy-created procedural drama "9-1-1" where he's been a series regular for seven seasons.
His story arc has been filled with many surprises but perhaps none bigger than this year's season finale when he and former firefighter Tommy Kinard become an item and kiss each other which then leads Buck to come out to his rescue team. Supportive fans praised the moment, but others had a lot of bad things to say on social media which led Stark to issue his own clapback on social media.
"If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show, I would like you to know that I truly don't care. This is a show about love and inclusion."
The actor doesn't update his social media pages too often, so fans have to do it for him. We found an account on Facebook and X dedicated to Oliver which showcases his sexy side. Let's take a look at why this sexy new star is so hot right now.
There's a common fantasy about being saved by a sexy first responder and Oliver Stark fits that role. Of course, in real life the heroics of these brave men and women shouldn't be trivialized but when they look as good as Oliver does it's hard not to be objectifying.
His character Buck on "9-1-1" was initially a loose cannon who once used a fire truck to get a woman. Since then, Buck has become a robust character who has grown a lot over the years allowing him to be honest with others and more importantly himself.
This beefy pose could hang on the wall as a part of a yearly firefighter calendar. His tattoo that reads "hordearii" is Latin for "barley eaters," which might be a reference to Oliver being a vegan. The term was used in the day of the gladiators who themselves were mostly vegetarians.
