The gays may have been out to kill her – at least on Season Two of "The White Lotus" – but Jennifer Coolidge says she would be lost without them. The two-time Emmy winning star was in Puerto Vallerta over the weekend, attending the opening the resort's newest luxe, queer hotel, The Tryst. But Coolidge wasn't the only celebrity partying. Gayety writes, "Demi Lovato made a surprise appearance, performing her hit song 'Cool for the Summer' on the hotel's rooftop, energizing the crowd as DJ Leland spun tracks into the night. Other notable attendees included Erika Jayne, Cynthia Bailey, Sonja Morgan, Antoni Porowski, Julia Fox, Laverne Cox, Chrishell Stause, Sam Asghari, TS Madison, and Kate del Castillo, among others."

Asked by People Magazine how her gay fan base was different than any other fan base, Coolidge responded with a headline-grabbing answer.

"I don't know. Maybe heterosexual people are more self-conscious. Gay men and gay women just let loose and have a blast. They know how to have a really, really good, really fun time. And they're really original. They're a superior group of people."

In an interview for Gayety, the opening night party's host Matt Rogers asked Coolidge about her love for the queer community. "It's always been mutual. Ever since I was a young girl, I think it was mutual attraction... We never even knew if some of us gay or some of us weren't, but we all ended up in the same group. We all felt the same way. When you're young, you just pick the people that you like when you hang out with them. It's so cool about my love for gay men and gay women. It was just mutual admiration. Like magnets choosing."

She added that the best way she can be an ally to queer men and women is "hanging out with them. I've been dancing with them on the dance floor and howling in my bedroom."

She ended with a bit of personal information that was so Jennifer Coolidge.

"I'll be very bummed to leave this place. I've had a very good time here and I almost got really lucky. Almost."

As Tanya McQuoid on "The White Lotus," Coolidge became an Internet meme with the line: "These gays, they're trying to murder me." It turns out they were, but Tanya triumphed by killing most of them before falling to her death while trying to escape.

When she appeared at the 34th GLAAD Media Awards where she received a standing ovation, Coolidge quipped, "Here I am again, surrounded by gays, it's the story of my life," telling the crowd: "You know, I have so much respect for the LGBTQ community and I just want you all to know that I love you and I thank you for always being there for me."
